Windows Defender - Virus and spyware definitions couldn't be updated

There are several issues here. The password was changed earlier today because I received an error msg saying that it was the wrong one (no chance it was mistyped or had any case sensitivity) so I had to change it again, to the same one I changed it to earlier.  : (

I went through the same thing last week when I tried to sign in to Skype using my Kindle and from then on the "microsoft password" I use to sign in to my HP pc is different from the "microsoft password" used to access this "help" feature and Skype. This does Not sound like the kind of "logic" that Bill Gates is known for!

Also, I recceived an error msg when I couldn't update the virus definitions because of failed "internet" issues. As you can see, the internet provider here has a very strong signal.  Does this mean that I have been "hacked" for the first time since 1995 or what?
