Hi,
there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.
Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:
Since the problem was OS based, it could be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Razer.

With the latest KB4284848 the problem is partially solved. The community and I have tested the build and we can confirm that it fixes most of the freezes.
There are still some problems though. Some freezes left within the Edge browser
and File Explorer. Please post your feedback!

I have an Inspiron 7577 laptop, and this freezing happens as described when opening Firefox, or game launches, and other launches. I was unable to edit the specified registry values because HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\UI\Selection didn't exist, so I wasn't able to activate the Skip Ahead Build.
I'm not sure when they're rolling out the hotfix, (reported yesterday, April 19th) but I hope that fixes it.
Finally I have succeeded updating to 17650 - it hit me when someone said that it didn't start (blue screen of death) when installing Avast. I use AVG and they are the same, so I have uninstalled it and it works now.
I thought that Windows fixed this by avoiding triggering the dGPU but I can confirm that the fix will be ok, the dGPU switch when using Photoshop is smooth, when starting a game it's smooth. They need modify all the remaining switch freezes that other users notice and to make it official in the next update.
Finally they will actually fix this stupid, annoying, idiotic problem!
Just updated to 17650. There is still a freeze when the PC is truned on for the first time or wake up. But after that, it is gone...
Is Insider version 17650 good for everyday use/daily driver, like gaming and browsing the internet? Overall satbility? Because it's stable and without such lagging issues, then I might consider giving it a try.
To be honest, Windows 10 1803 17643 is night and day compared to 1709, looking at mouse stutters, freezes and overall OS performance in the desktop. It's not perfect, I have a Dell, so it's promising, if Dell says there is a problem and hotfix will be released soon. I hope for us, in Insider Preview, we will get it next week. I'm upgrading to 17650.
BTW - MS Update always wants to roll back Intel HD drivers to old ones. WTF is that?
