Cant connect to Microsoft Services

My computer has just been cleaned off and had a new hard drive replacement. Whenever I try to add a Microsoft account to log on to this cleaned laptop, it just says to check network problems. I have done this multiple times, with the troubleshooter saying nothing is wrong. I don't know what to do.

Hi all,

Our engineering team has already applied a backend fix for this bug on our servers, so Windows 8.1 users should now be able to use their Microsoft accounts without getting any errors.

Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other concerns about connecting Microsoft user accounts.

Finally, after about a month, Microsoft has fixed this issue which should have been caught during routine bug testing of updates.
