I just installed the WordPress app but it will not start because it says the MSVCP140.dll is missing.

Where can I get its replacement?

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

**Step 1:**I suggest you to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and check if it resolves the issue.

**Step 2:**Also, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

Follow the below steps:

  1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
  3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

    Same issue.  Trying to run a program the following 3 dlls are "missing"

    mfc140.dll

    msvcp140.dll

    vcruntime140.dll

    Trying to install the Redistributable tells me I already have a newer version of the Redistributable installed.  If it's already installed, where are the files??

    sfc /scannow produced no errors.

    Update:

    Downloaded and installed this:  Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017

    Problems went away.

    I just tried this and testing to see if it worked.

    =================

     "Resolved it" by renaming the AdobeGCClient.exe in ProgramFiles(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient  to .old instead. 

    Not exactly a solution, but that file is just an Adobe "Security" file that checks to make sure users don't have illegal copies of Adobe products. 

    2015 Redistributable fix works as well though.

    hi

    I installed dorico from Steinberg web site, when I try to open it it gave and MSVCP140.DLL, and VCRUNTIME140.DLL error, I downloaded the 4 times and still same error.
