New Win7 install will not do windows update ***FINALLY FIXED***

Like others (long lisst on this board....), I have no luck doing windows update after wiping my HD and re-loading Win7 from fresh.  This is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe MB with 3 Gb of memory with AMD64/4400+  Athlon 64 processor  with OS on a Kingston 120 Gb SSDNow 300 SSD.  Win7 is with SP1.

This will happens with no other software installed (i.e. anti-virus) and immediately after OS installation..  No problem at all with any hardware in “Device Manager”.  The machine will communicate with the web just fine since I went directly to MS and download/ install IE11 which is working and e-mail is also working.  I have tried:

  1. Windows Update Troubleshooter does not work.
  2. Occationally I get error code 8007000E but none of what it says can cause it applies here i.e. language, memory, anti-virus, etc.
  3. MS  “Fix it” – does not work

I MS no longer supporting new win7 installs?

    Thanks!  I’ve managed to download and install net 4.5.2 with no problem – it shows up in my uninstall list.

    I am going to run Windows Download and Gerry Cornell’s “Window install Update” overnight to see if anything works.

    I would go ahead and download or at least try to install net 4.5.2 it the most recent win-7

    M$ did release net 4.6.1 but that is a win-10 net

    I'm leaving that sucker sit in the Optional section.

    Interesting question as only the programs on my desktop I hand installed are showing up and net framework is not one of them.

    Also interesting is when I installed MS Office, that program was able to automatically installed "2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 3"...  All other MS updates are ones that I manually installed i.e. like IE11

    I also checked my laptop which is now also have the same problem with windows update, this being a Sony Viao with Vista Ultimate and was doing OK before with updates shows it two items:

    Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1

    Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile.

    Most of the time just manually installing the new client and restarting will fix the issue,

    Which net framework do you show in uninstall a program ?

    I am starting to think the same i.e. it is an MS issue.  One only have to look at the list of people on this board that is having update problems.  Of course, I now have two machines with the same problem...  One that had its OS installed for more than a month and has been working fine until this week....

    I wonder if the moderator of this board give feedback to MS?
