And yet we AT&T 950 users are still waiting for the previous firmware release.
Unfortunately as you're aware I a sure, it is kind of AT&T's phone. One of the reasons I went with 950 XL, not bound to the carrier to decide when I can get updates.

Hey all,
we have started rolling out a new firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx. Key improvements in this release include:
The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.
Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For detailed update instructions, see.
If you are a Windows Insider user, see. Note: this does not affect general firmware availability.

The GSM (2G/3G) connectivity is horrible, and my Lumia 950 XL is nearly unusable when my data connection is throtteled. Has this been improved with the firmware update? LTE is fine, only the previous mentioned standards are unusable compared to other phones I own. State: Germany (Unlocked/Unbranded Lumia 950 XL) Provider: o2
I would advise those users to check the firmware update (when available for their phone) and report the result. The post is in German, so I just vaguely read it through. We are listening to the feedback and AFAIK BT connectivity problems are being investigated with priority. That being said, there are unfortunately no significant fixes for that area included in this particular update (otherwise it would have been listed in the "key improvements") . However I believe there should be some improvements for scenarios where the BT connection turns itself off during phone call. If the folks are still experiencing that type of issue, let us know!
Aaaaaaand the poor sound quality of the back loudspeaker is still not fixed. The 5sec noise and click after a notification is played seems to be gone. But after pressing a keyboard key with keyboard sound on the 5sec noise and click does still appear after the keyboard tone is played.
There is still a noticeable "background" noise while a notification or what ever is played. The sound quality of the back loudspeaker is not crystal-clear. I really hope you get this fixed somehow.
