Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth not working in Windows 10

Since you already tried some possible solution, and your device still does not work. We suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Bluetooth device, it might be that you need an updated driver that can be supported by the recent Windows 10 update.

I've tried updating my drivers and troubleshooting but nothing has worked since updating or upgrading windows yesterday.

Now my PC can't seem to detect or find any devices.

I have an MSI Computer G Series GS60 Ghost Pro 4K-053 15.6" Laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 internal adapter.

Yesterday I discovered there were updates and installed the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607. The install appeared to go normally and I allowed the computer to restart. After the restart, I waited to make sure no more update actions were taking place, and I opened Steam to play a game. Up until this point everything was working fine.

The game opened, and I was able to use my Bluetooth Logitech Travel Mouse to hit start. The screen went black and waited for a long time with a spinning blue cursor in the middle of the screen. After I felt like I'd waited long enough without results, I started trying to close the game. I noticed then the mouse wasn't working but the trackpad moved the cursor. I didn't think anything of it because the system was clearly having an issue. I was unable to get to the task manager. I could see it when I hit Alt+Tab, but when I selected task manager it stayed on a black screen. This is fairly common with full screen games that have an issue, so I eventually decided to long press the power button. When the computer started up, I could not use my BT mouse and had to use the trackpad.

I opened BT settings and saw the paired mouse, but it wasn't connecting. I decided to delete and reinstall the mouse, standard Windows first step since at least XP. The mouse deleted fine, but when I cycled BT to begin the device search, nothing was found. The mouse was definitely in pairing mode because I was able to see it and connect to it with my phone (having a mouse on a phone was kind of weird, BTW). However, the computer did not detect any devices and never reported a device wasn't detected. It just sits there on the screen with "Your PC is searching for and can be detected by Bluetooth devices" with the dots/lines moving below it. I left it this way for 12 hours, and it never said it couldn't find any devices.

Following advice on the internet, I tried the following. To avoid retyping it, every step below was unsuccessful:

1. turned the mouse on and off multiple times and re-entered pairing mode multiple times. Whenever I checked with my phone, it discovered the mouse but the computer didn't.
2. rebooted multiple times, one of which installed the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3193494).
3. turned bluetooth on and off multiple times with the switch in settings, the button in the Action Center, and airplane mode.
4. uninstalled all 3 BT devices (qualcomm and 2 microsoft enumerators), deleted the drivers when I uninstalled, and reinstalled latest BT drivers from MSI website.
5. disabled Qualcomm device (someone reported this made their BT devices show up)
6. Opened Services and changed the BT service to Automatic, deleted the stored password, hit OK and rebooted
7. Searched the registry to make sure there was no entry for the BT mouse. I didn't find one
8. Removed the HID mouse entry from device manager. I figured it was probably for the trackpad but I wanted to be sure. It reinstalled right away and had no impact on bluetooth.

I tried some of these steps multiple times, but my computer still isn't finding anything. When I turn on the option to let other devices see my computer, the phone doesn't detect it.

In summary, I've got a computer that reports it has working BT, the light is on at the front of the case, and the drivers are all up-to-date. However, the BT isn't detecting any devices and itself is not detected by other devices.

Is there anything else I can try to get BT working so that I can re-pair with my mouse? I don't have a USB backup and it's not convenient to go buy one for a day or two. I'd rather just get my BT mouse paired again.

You just gave me the steps I've already tried a lot of times that didn't work with the charge 2+.
