If it was software, wouldn't that problem also happen with my Nokia Lumia 830? I am not using it again with the broken screen and have no problems running it with the latest version of Windows and it runs great. There is got to be an app that drains the 950 or maybe the battery is no good on the 950. Either way, Microsoft needs to find a solution soon.
Lumia 950 battery drains rapidly
My Lumia 950 was at 95% battery today. I had it in my pocket for 2 hours and didn't take it out once or use it in any ways. After 2 hours I pulled my phone out and it was at 72% and it felt very hot. Is this the experience others are having with their Lumia 950 or does this sound like I may have a defective phone and/or battery?

2015-12-07T07:41:45+00:00 I think its software related.
If I put my phone on battery saver, the battery last way longer. And, when the phone is charging, and you don't use it, the battery lasts a really long time. The second you open the lock screen, the drain starts.
I guess its some sort of background service that is killing the battery.

2015-12-06T21:16:35+00:00 But is this software problem or hardware? If software, then update could fix this, if hardware, then only way to fix is to change the phone. Anyone knows the answer? Is MS knows of the problem?

2015-12-06T20:04:38+00:00 It is not a windows 10 problem, it is this phone. I am having the same problem. Went from Nokia 830 running Windows 10 (beta) and love it. I had no problems with the phone, it would last at least 2 days without a charge, heavy use, I listen to audio book, read emails for about 4 different mailboxes, read books and shop and still did not have any problems with it. I updated because I dropped my 830 and my screen broke and decided to purchase the update. I am very unhappy with the phone so far, Love the OS, but this phone heats up. It drains after about 4 to 5 hours of light use. They need to fix this. I guess I have another 20 days to test it before I decide if I want to return it. Not happy so far.

2015-12-04T21:55:57+00:00 ....., there is one thing you can check...it has a built-in battery monitor, if you go to settings -> system -> battery saver -> battery use it shows whats eating up your battery...that should help you narrow things down.
Although I thought that this would have been helpful it changes every time you look at, first time its the settings, next time you look at it its the lock screen. Very inconsistent.
