Stability Issues with the Windows Live Mail 2012 Update – KB3093594

I have been having all kinds of problems also.  I could not locate the update which destroyed Live mail, so  I just downloaded the "new" fix and can at least get into Live Mail.  My main concern was several extremely important emails that I needed to access..  I was able to forward them to myself and open them in the Mail function that came with Windows 10.  Don't like it at all.  Is it true that Live Mail is being phased out and there will be no more support for it?

Regarding your comments on Edge, I agree.  Seems no faster than IE  or Chrome.   My main complaint is that it does not accept extensions.  I have paid for  RoboForm and Norton Security, have used them forever and I much prefer them to Edge security. Anyone can open my laptop and fill in the user name and password.  RoboForm allows me to require a master password to fill in the information on sites that I choose to keep unavailable.  And it syncs with my tablet and phone.  Thankfully, Edge has an option to open a page in IE and use my RoboForm.  Stupid extra step.  So I am opening all my financial and personal sites with IE.  This should not be necessary.    I do not require a password to open my laptop as I am the only user, thus there is no security. 

I do like the Edge favorites bar and use that often.  I agree that the 'back" function is useless.

These seem to be problems that Win 10 should have addressed before releasing the new platform.

I too fell for the scare tactic in the email from Microsoft and installed the update to keep Live Essentials Mail working.  Firstly I started getting "missing DLL" errors and had to download and install a Visual C runtime.  I also had to "recover the mail message online" and download the install again and install it.

Now that I have Live Mail partially working, I find that after sending an email, a copy is NOT being saved in the "Sent Items" folder as specified in my settings.

They have totally destoroyed a working product, one that I have been using since it was first released.

In a totally unrelated error, when playing MS Solitair I am getting error messages about the video driver crashing and recovering.  Except that it does NOT recover and shuts down, requiring a re-start and yet another extender advert of their other game products.  All the online advice does not help at all.

In addition, I find the new internet product Edge is a pathetic excuse for a browser.  They have taken away many of the features of IE such as selective "back", many of the right-click menu operations and a proper tree structure for favourites.  And with all that they have removed it is not any faster than IE.  The media player is simlarly brain dead and I have not even looked at the picture browser.

Microsloth, you are seriously starting to annoy me and I am seriously considering a Mac!

On Dec 17^th^we rereleased the Windows Live Mail update KB3093594.  For users who had previously installed this update and were experiencing a crash when launching the Windows Live Mail app, please download and re-install KB3093594 and this issue should be resolved.

Some users have independently reported a separate issue with sync of mail with attachments that we continue to investigate.

I've installed the new update and Live is working now without crashing. Calendar is partially working - add-in calendars like Holidays aren't being synced. Emails with attachments seem to be syncing OK.

It would have been better if the Outlook Team had sent out another email to let us know that the update had been updated.

Windows Live 2012 shows a variety of problems which cannot be defined nor managed without the actual program code in front of you. If everyone had the same problem(s) then there may be a workaround. I even have issues with Outlook. I am guessing but some genius may have routed some Live actions to Outlook since they do similar things. It did not work.

My present Live issue is that the Calendar shows an error that says that the central calendar server has an error. That is why I suspect Outlook code to be involved. Regardless, the building is almost empty as people take an early holiday so we are stuck for a week or more.
