Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) kills WLM 2012

Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.

I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.

Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

    My W7 works but you have to leave it as long as it takes (mine 15 minutes) to do the first calendar update.

    However DISASTER all my calendar items pre October 2010 are missing. Over years I spent hundreds of hours getting my past diary history into Hotmail.

    Anyone else with same problem and solution?

    Yes I uninstalled the patched WLM then downloaded WL from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/essentials and reinstalled it - accounts and data were retained.

    on windows 10 pro, I tried the Windows 8 compatibility trick but WLM still dies when updating calendar. I tried the Poorly designed featureless Mail App they recommend and it kept failing to sync my Live account.  It will get my vote for the worst software ever.  I am not sure the designers even use it, so they don't see it is badly designed as most of the DUMBED down apps of today are.

    Same things happened to me after I installed the patch and all the folders I created under my inbox are gone.  How did you revert to the unpatched version?  Did you unstall and then re-install WLM?
