Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) kills WLM 2012

Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.

I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.

Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

Tim

    I installed the patch and lost all the sub-folders from my personal folders.

    Uninstalled WLM did a sytem cleanup with both McAfee and AVG PC Tuneup then re-installed WLM.

    Sub-folders still missing so added a new temp folder to each of my personal folders - shut down WLM.

    Restarted WLM and all sub-folders had returned - then cleaned out temp folders.

    Now back to where I was before I installed the patch.

    Should have known better than to install a patch without checking its validity, especially after I just got rid of the dreaded, persistent Windows 10 updates.

    Go to the command prompt (run from start menu).

    msiexec /package {B775C26B-EAA8-4A11-ACBF-76E52DF6B805} /uninstall {342DCD5D-5946-453B-97AC-D53B7662EDF5}

    After running the command

    Choose repair and follow the steps in the wizard. Once you've done this, Windows Live Mail will be reverted back to the old version without the issues of the update.

    Hi Nigel,  thank you so much!  That did indeed work...

    Do you have a fix for the emails in my sent folder that all say they were sent "to" me, but in fact when you click on the email, it shows the appropriate person to whom the email was sent?

    Thanks!
