I installed chromium out of curiosity but found I prefer google. chromium is not listed in my control panel to uninstall and google is not listed either. google chrome was listed and I successfully uninstalled that.

I have remove it without any problems on Windows 10 Chromium was not showing in Control Panel or listed in Add/Remove Programs for uninstalling.
Click Start> Settings> File Explorer Options > tab View then select> Show Hidden Files, Folders or Drives.
Click File Explorer> (C: ) Drive> Users >Your Personal Named folder >AppData> Local.
You should see the Chromium folder just delete it.
I had the problem where uninstalling from Control Panel's Program Files (regular or safe mode), or using CCleaner as an intermediate would do nothing after clicking Uninstall. Nothing was ever running in task manager to delete (probably because I'd somehow managed to remove part of it but not all and was left with a bad state). Then I tried the Fixit program mentioned above and it couldn't find "Chromium". CCleaner found some of the Chromium registry stuff, but the program still lived in some level in Program Files.
The way I was able to finally get rid of it was like above in the C: > Users >{Personal Named folder} >AppData> Local (I'm also on Windows 10). But with a catch; I'd already previously deleted the "Chromium" folder, but it was either there or somewhere near that I also found two folders with GUIDs for folder names, also installed on the same date that something gave me Chromium. I deleted those two folders and then was able to finally uninstall Chromium (or more accurately, went to uninstall from Program Files and it finally responded to click, saying that the program was no longer there).
That is so cool!!!
But ... its BACK!!!! on mine!!!
To be more precise: A screen comes up suggesting that there is an update and it's for Chromium!!! there is no little cross in the corner making it possible to click it away. I have to close it in my taskbar until I do it keeps my screen under ransom!!! Cheeky B.....s!!
It will keep coming back onto my screen until I install it.

So, the way I uninstalled it did not uninstall all of its components. It just waited for a few days and is trying hard to get back onto my machine. It should be against the law. I know for sure it is against the law of decency.
I saw another post here on this threat with another suggestion how to remove it all.
Going to search for it and try to remove the trojan horse lurking in my machine.
