Windows defender keep asking to update every 2nd day....

Hi

windows defender is keep asking to update it every 2nd day, action centre displays the notification about out of date  windows defender, when i open it windows defender completes the update as normally and than the other day it appears again.

any solutions to this??

    Assuming Win8.1 64-bit...

    Please answer each of the following [admittedly tedious] diagnostic questions in a correspondingly-numbered list in your very next reply, preferably without quoting this post:

    1a. When (approx. date) did you purchase the computer?

    1b. Who manufactured the laptop (e.g., Dell; HP; Lenovo; Toshiba)?

    1c. Did the computer come with Win8 (or Win8.1) preinstalled, did you do a clean install of Win8 (or Win8.1), or did you upgrade a (e.g., Win7) computer to Win8?

    1d. Assuming you started with Win8 => When (approx. date) was Win8.1 installed?

    2a. Is KB3058515, KB3059317 and/or KB3057839 listed in Installed Updates*(not Update History*)? [1]

    2b. How about KB3035583, KB2976978 and/or KB3044374?

    3a. What Update Version & KB number are displayed in the second line of text in IE11's Help | About [Alt+H+A] tab; e.g., Update Version: 11.0.54 (KB1231231) ?

    3b. Is Firefox, Chrome or any other alternate browser installed?

    1. Is Adobe Flash Player v18.0.0.194 for Internet Explorer installed? TEST HERE USING INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY! => http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    2. Are you in the habit of using "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic; System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro; Advanced SystemCare; Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean; Glary Utilities; AVG PC TuneUp; Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools Optimiser; SpeedUpMyPC; PC Doctor; TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner; Advanced System Optimizer; CCleaner's Registry Cleaner component)?

    Do you have Automatic Updates set at default settings or notify you when updates are available?

    1a= 31 march 2012

    1b= Dell

    1c= no laptop came with OS Ubunto installed i chnaged it to win 7, than i did a clean install of windows 8 and upgrades to win 8.1.

    1d=i cant tell surely when i upgraded to 8.1.

    2a= KB3058515 and KB3059317 is not installed. KB 3057839 is installed.

    2b= yes all three are listed there.

    3a = update version 11.0.19 (KB3049563)

    3b= yes google chrome is installed from the beginning. 

    5= yes  i m using ccleaner almost from the start.

    4=  adobe flash player You version 18,0,0,194 installed.

    my update setting is check for updates but let me choose whether to install them.

    Your Automatic Update setting is why you are being prompted to install the Defender Updates -- every day.

    Windows Defender respects the AU settings of Windows for its own updates.
