I recently purchased a custom built pc packed with windows 8.1 which I upgraded to Windows 10.
I installed Age of Mythology yesterday and when I try to run the game nothing happens. I have tried all compatibility suggestions and I get the same result.
I also have this same problem with black and white 2.
I have a NVIDIA Geforce gtx 980 graphics card installed in my pc.
Can you provide any suggestions please.
Thank you.

I've not tested personally but it is possible to manually allow the secdrv.sys service to start and run.
The method is described on the Microsoft site.
Microsoft also recommends to stop the service when no more necessary.
See here if it helps :

Tried compatibility mode without any luck (several different versions). I can watch the task manager, aomx.exe comes up and then it's gone. If the solution is to switch to Steam I just hope THAT version will work and you'd think those of us who PAID for the previous version could at least get a discount on the Steam version?
Try to open the game in Windows mode. It work to me.
I also rolled back to 7, which worked until security update kb3086255 on 9/9/15. Microsoft provided a solution to that, however, in article MS15-097. yaay!
