"Error 1" when installing "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework

Hello,

I see a C:\Windows\System32\catroot and wondered if this is about WU as well, sicne you had me rename catroot2 near the start of this thread? 

I am now receving "Error 1" when installing "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5, 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 x64 (KB3037581)"

Any ideas?

    Is there a way I can save the list of Add-ons to a file then post it here?

    Open Manage Add-ons and place the cursor on Toolbars and Extensions. Use the Scroll to change Currently loaded add-ons to All add-ons. Place the cursor on the first item in list of Toolbars and Extensions (Adblock Plus in the image below) and select keyboard shortcut Shift+End to select all items, right click and select Copy. Paste into any Word or other text file. Repeat the procedure for Search Providers.

    Ran the "Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool" from the first link. Restarted the computer, then tried to install the WU again.  Still has Error 1.  I then did "System Information" and exported to SI.txt.  Reading further in your reply I see that you preferred the computer be in safe mode while the export was done so I then restarted the computer and went into safe mode.  SI_Safemode.txt is the export while in safe mode.  the link for these files is:

    Restart the computer and test whether the update now succeeds.

    Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

    Please upload and share with everyone copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your OneDrive and post a link here.

    To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.
