KB3038314 Fails to Install get the error 80092004.

This solution worked for me, however I used a different IE11 offline installation package, because the one linked in VeganTommy.nett`s post does not want to install until I am offline, but after going online it installed the version including the KB3038314 patch, so I was back to the same loop.

I tested the solution only with English windows no other language packs.

So what I did:

1. The computer must be offline
2. Fresh install Windows 7 SP1 64 bit ENG
3. Install all required drivers
4. Install the bellow listed 6 updates. I downloaded them and put on a pendrive.

5. Install IE11 but you have to download the installation package from the bellow link:

I downloaded the IE offline package on another PC, and put on a pendrive, so the freshly installed PC was offline all the way until IE11 was successfully installed.

The page should look like this:

As a default setting it offers the wrong package, so click on change system link, above the select language drop box, and make the bellow selection.

Download the IE11 offline installation package put on a pendrive and install on the freshly installed PC.

It is very important to go online just after the IE11 installation completed because during the IE11 install it tries to connect to the internet and check for updates and finds the KB3038314. If you are offline than it will install the IE11 with update KB2841134.

Onwards from this point, your PC, from patching point of view, is similar to PCs installed before the  release of our famous KB3038314 update on 14th April, 2015.

If you are ready with the IE11 install you can go online and use windows update to install all updates, including the KB3038314.

If the Update Versions line shows KB3038314, this indicates that the security update is correctly installed and that the system is not in an unprotected state.

Similar issue here, except I've noticed a difference between a successful installation and an unsuccessful one:

1. This update installed successfully on Win7 64-bit Ultimate desktop with IE 11 on 4/15/15.  It is titled "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3038314)". 

BUT...

2)  It did NOT install successfully on a Win7 64-bit Home laptop with IE 11 despite repeated attempts; I get the same failure code 80092004.  Curiously, on this machine, the update entries for (KB3038314) carry TWO DIFFERENT NAMES:  the name above and, on different installation attempts, this name:  "Security Update for Windows (KB3038314)".

Might this be "an issue"?

With my misunderstanding of English, from me not enough advantage will be there.

I can add, I on other laptop made pure installation, established all updatings (important, recommended, optional), after the SP1 installation, updated IE8 to IE11, and made search of updatings, together with other updatings four updatings for IE11 were offered.

I at first established all Windows updatings, then established all four updatings for IE together.

I didn't use independent fitters of updatings.
