KB3038314 Fails to Install get the error 80092004.

KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Same problem here. I just did a fresh install of Windows 7, no plugins (Flash, Java, etc). KB3038314 is the last update left and it won't install. I have tried installing through Windows Update and manually downloading the update and have no luck.

Same error. Lenovo L420 laptop, Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit, IE 11. Try to install  "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for x64-based Systems (KB3038314)". I get "Code 80092004,

Windows Update encountered an unknown error." Uninstalled IE11, reinstalled IE11, tried to install KB3038314, same error. Ran Microsoft Fixit Tool, got "Thank you for running an automated troubleshooter from Microsoft. We did not detect any problems and therefore no fixes were applied." Downloaded "IE11-Windows6.1-KB3038314-x86.msu", ran it manually, same error. [sigh] :-(

    Same here.

    Fresh installation. Same Error.

    FixIts didn't help.

Also Eset installed. Deactivating didn't help.

    "Funny Thing":

On another machine, with almost the same configuration that we installed one week ago, the update is installed without any error.
