KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install. This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11. I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail. The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday). Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2015-04-23T17:05:15+00:00 Me too..... have tried Windows Update and the Standalone for KB3038314 and also tried the FixIt for Windows Update and the update still fails.
I tried uninstalling all add ons like Java, Flash Player, Shockwaves etc.
Additionally I tried uninstalling then reinstalling IE11 then retried KB3038314 with the same failure message/code.
I'm running a freshly installed Windows 7 64bit home premium.
Someone please help.

Solution which works for me:
- search for updates
- install all updates & optional updates except the KB3038314.
- uninstall IE11 --> restart PC
- search for updates
- install all available updates & optional updates (including KB3038314)
- if updated successfully ---> restart PC
- search for updates --> only update available should be IE11
- donwload and install IE11 with windows update function
- restart and enjoy your Windows 7 with latest patches

What does a SSD have to do with it?????
