KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I ran into this issue as well. I went to the download center and manually pulled the update down. When I attempted to install it, it returned a message stating that it was not applicable to my system so apparently this update is not needed even thought Windows Update thinks it is.

Make sure you are downloading the x64 if you need it.  If it doesn't say x64 then you have the 32 bit and it'll say that when installing on a 64 bit system.

Yet another. Clean install of Windows Server 2008 R2 on Hyper-V in my case. All other updates installed, this one refuses from Windows Update service or standalone.

Windows update "Security Update for Windows (KB3038314)" could not be installed because of error 2148081668 "Cannot find object or property."

I had this error on fresh install of Windows 7 HP and ended up hiding it and then checking updates again there are two more new ones for IE11 now. Bug maybe.

Same thing here but unhide this one and it'll fail again.

I upgraded my IE8 to IE9 and I have no problems so far, so I'm thinking about not installing IE11 and KB3038314 until it gets fixed or I'll probably not worry about it
