Windows update KB3004394 issues

I don't use Windows Defender, but KB3004394 has caused problems for me too, on Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1.

After installing this update (KB3004394) via Windows Update, I can no longer use the Magnifier.exe "Ease of Access" program. Attempting to start it gives an error message "a referral was returned from the server". Removing the update returns the system to normal use.

I've encountered the same windows defender issue on windows 2008 R2.

Uninstalling KB3004394 has solved this matter.

I had this issue with KB3004394, on a Windows 7 SP1 64 bit Home Premium; read in another forum someone had claimed this update broke their "diagnostic tool", so after having tried every known re-registering of Defender dlls/update fixes/SURT, all to no avail and all responding "unknown" problem, I removed KB3004394, restarted, and Defender et al back to normal functions.

The point is that it affects some users and not others. Unless that is appreciated and why the problem will be more difficult to resolve.

Windows update KB3004394  causes the following issues on my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system:

All MMC functions (Event Viewer, etc.) now require Administrator action, although in an Administrator account.

Windows Defender service will not start

The Windows Defender Service Terminated with the following error

Removing it  returns the system to normal.

Anyone else experience this?
