Mailing list groups in Windows 10 Mail

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. I had been using Hotmail/outlook.com for my email. After the upgrade, I found my contacts but all of my mailing lists were gone. I checked the People app, but there was nothing there to help me create groups.

Is there a way to recover or create mailing lists now that I have upgraded?

In order to get this needed feature added we need to create momentum and you can help in this way!  But Microsoft will not even see this here because it is mostly staffed by volunteers who give our time to help others.

There is NO option to create groups but there is a work around, using the Mail and People app together.

To create the group:  In Mail, create New Mail, open the cc/bcc field and insert all the addresses for the particular group.

When completed (with the mouse pointer at the end), right click and select 'select all'.  For some reason you can't right click and select copy but you can copy with ctrl+c. Now, open the People app, create new contact, give the group a name and paste the copied names into an email field, I use the 'Other' option and click the SAVE button.

To use the group: Mail app - New mail, click bcc field or whatever, open the People app, snap it left or right, find your group name, click on it, on the right hand side you will see all your group addresses, right click and copy, go back to mail, right click and paste.

I don't know the limitations of this (and there probably is).  None of my groups have more than 10 names in them.

    I tried doing all their lame solutions.  Ended up creating a group.  The only plus side was I had a list of our clients so I could type in the first couple of letters and add it to the List.

    Thank God I saved periodically because after the last 125 (I had created a Circle of Trust in my mind), when I hit "Enter" it told me "this was a bad time for Microsoft and I should come back later (my interpretation)."  I held my breath and tried several times without success.

    I don't understand what Microsoft is doing.  Laying off so many employees; lack of support and improvement of software; no new hardware; (okay so I don't get the Pad or Phone); it's like all the money has been made and let Apple take over.

    Really hope this issue gets resolved some day.

    For the time being, here is my not so perfect workaround:

    I've created Draft emails with all the recipients for a particular group in the "To:" field and the name of the group in the "Subject" and "Body" of email. I just leave these in the draft folder.

    This way, whether creating a new email or forwarding, it's just a matter of selecting appropriate draft email and copying and pasting recipients. Make sense?

    Not perfect, but not as cumbersome as some of the other workarounds I've seen.

    My workaround is to prepare a MS word file where I store all my group email details.

    For any group just copy all the email addresses one after the other separated by a comma. It's not a hassle--hardly more work that setting up groups in the old way.

    Then in the Word file, select that list, right click and change it to a hyperlink.

    If you do that with all your groups you have a single document  with all your group lists ready to go.

    All it takes to send an email is to 'control click' any hyperlink and you get a new email window with the correct addresses in the 'to' box.

    --a bit ironic that the slickest way to send a group email is to open a Word document and not the mail app..

    Come on MS get off your high horse and front up!
