Windows live writer wont connect to blogger

I have been using the windows live writer for years and today it wont let me post into my blogger blog. 

The first error was stating that my user name and password was incorrect so I changed it. It still didn't work and still stating the same issue. I clean/repaired up the windows essentials like other forms said. Now the error message I get is blogger return the following error: Notfound: not found. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps saying the same issue.

please make sure that you use the following steps

  1. Verify you are using http or https for you website.
  2. Add ' @gmail.com ' at the end of your user name.
  3. If your account has 2-step verification enabled then see the following guide to use app specific password rather than your original password.

    Is this issue even being worked on? Is there a timeline for when this will get fixed? I need to post on my blogs. :(

    Live Writer may be open sourced in the next few months, then it could be fixed, but if that happens, it won't be fast. Months.

    That said, Google may have said they'll fix it on their side (given that they broke it, that makes sense) https://plus.google.com/u/0/+RickDoyle/posts/GUPJcu5sZHo

    Scott, latest from Google is that we users need to "reach out" to Microsoft for a fix. So its ping poing time. Who is picking this up? As far as I can see the ball is back in Microsoft's court  - if have you been reading/participating in the lengthy discussion at

    then you'll see what I mean.

    Months for a fix is NOT acceptable!

    Same problem here too on my blog ashramblings.blogspot.com .

    I assume someone has pointed you to the lengthy discussion on Blogger at https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/blogger/-49FC2\_0l-g/2175XnzZhc0J  which clearly shows WLW is the user interface of choice for bloggers and we need this fixed ASAP, no excuses. 

    People are very angry that this has happened without warning to us users who are fed up with Google v Microsoft when the best solution for us is a mix of the two.

    Please Microsoft get this fix and keep your customers happy.

    Latest "official" news below from Google on this Blogger issue. Now can we get some news from Microsoft?

    We appreciate you coming here and letting us know about this issue. It looks like this error is a result of an authentication problem between Google and Live Writer. A long time ago, we announced we were deprecating our old authentication system and we encouraged developers to move to the new one (OAuth 2.0). It seems that Live Writer is still using our old system, which is causing the issue. We are currently looking into it, but we suggest that users also reach out to Microsoft to report the issue.
