I have been using the windows live writer for years and today it wont let me post into my blogger blog.

The first error was stating that my user name and password was incorrect so I changed it. It still didn't work and still stating the same issue. I clean/repaired up the windows essentials like other forms said. Now the error message I get is blogger return the following error: Notfound: not found. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps saying the same issue.

Thanks.

please make sure that you use the following steps

  1. Verify you are using http or https for you website.
  2. Add ' @gmail.com ' at the end of your user name.
  3. If your account has 2-step verification enabled then see the following guide to use app specific password rather than your original password.

App specific password generation

I updated to Windows 10 today, reinstalled One Live Writer (nightly version that someone here posted the link for) and just published a blog post successfully.  Yay!  It's a Christmas miracle. ;)  Now if it will just keep doing that without any further issues........

I was still having trouble with the Nightly version, so I contacted Scott Hanselman of OLW (******@hanselman.com) and he sent me this link for an update: https://github.com/OpenLiveWriter/OpenLiveWriter/releases/tag/0.5.1.3

I opened the site, clicked on the update link and voila! it worked. At least for a while until there is another glitch. I think you need a github acct. to get future updates. Not sure how to do that.

Look at this Windows Store app for Windows 8 and 10. The Windows Live Writter has really much more functions, but this can replace-it for some days...
