Windows RT upgrade to Windows 10

Not quite sure what you mean by "integrated the rt's ability for arm cpu's into the full windows 10 " as they are completely different code sets. Nothing that natively runs on ARM will run on x86 just as much as the other way round.

You can make them both capable of running the same applications which is the ethos behind Universal Apps but the operating system itself has to by definition be written for the processor it is intended to run on.

What makes Microsoft's attitude for RT less comprehensible is that there is an ARM build in existence i.e. the Phone build. Not only that but there is also a build for the Raspberry Pi albeit with limited functionality.

It is difficult to see Microsoft taking on Android given its price point, if a buyer is only willing to pay peanuts they have to put up with simian software. In its 1st iteration RT was an iPad beater and as such a much more viable target, they gave up far too easily. Not only that but they end up developing for iOS, incomprehensible!

The N3530 is a full low performance Pentium System-on-a-Chip Quad core x86 processor, it is not ARM (which is its own architecture) and replaces Atom (also x86)

You had full Windows 8 on your computer NOT RT and as such technically can go up to Windows 10. That does not mean that Dell or even Intel supports such a move but the upgrade program tended to ignore such restrictions.

It cant have be RT, it is impossible, must have been standard windows; RT will not run on pentium of any kind

Have you tried the Restore disk? Ask dell for one, or you can download (the windows 8 disc) from MS i think (might need to enter the windows key that should be printed underneath the laptop)

(windows and RT is essentially are the same, user interface wise - have you tried Swiping from the right of the Screen and press the Tablet button? That will give you an RT like front screen instead of start bar)

This is a Dell Inspiron 11 2in1 3147 that's thirty one forty seven.

When I got it it had Windows 8.1 RT and the Windows 10 update came through as a WINDOWS UPDATE! I aint lyin'. Now it won't update - choked on the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x 64-based systems (KB3194798) I think around Oct. 18th and now not even Defender will update even through the program.

The ARM processor is now identified as Intel(R) Pentium(R) N3530 @ 2.166 GHz no longer saying Celeron/Pentium after updates to BIOS and Chipsets.

This is also a 64 bit system and yes, still has some RT commands - for some reason some people find this impossible. SFC and DISM don't run correctly, Repair and Recovery won't run and I just got it back from repair with these issues not resolved so have a full day with Dell on the phone once again. Bye now.
