KB3035583 Installing Windows 10 using Windows Update?

Would you please tell me how to prevent the installation of KB3035583 in my computer and if it is already installed, how to remove it?  Also, are there other updates that we need to be concerned about that enable this behaviour?

KB3035583 now appears as an Important update in Windows Update and is checked which means it will be automatically installed if the user does not uncheck it.  If automatic update is set, it will install without intervention.

There are credible articles that say that Microsoft either has installed or will install changes to my computer that will enable Microsoft to use it as an advertising platform and then install Windows 10 without first obtaining an informed decision to do so.  I truly hope this is not true.

On behalf of my clients and their 162 Windows "consumer" computers, I must tell you that we do not grant Microsoft or any other vendor the right to do this.  When other Windows players do this, we regard it as malware and take great care to remove it.

Microsoft got to where it is today by selling Windows.  We have spent decades learning how to use Windows and billions of dollars buying Windows computers and Windows software.  We own these systems.  They are ours, not Microsoft's.

Windows Update has earned a huge trust.  We trust Microsoft to use Windows Update to keep our computers safe and secure.  When Patch Tuesday comes along we install all the updates that Microsoft says are "important." We assume those to be either plugging a security leak or fixing a software error.

We all hope Windows 10 will be something we will want.  We will carefully review and consult trusted advisors before we install Windows 10.  We have seen Windows 8 and rejected it.  Windows 8 is a bad product we did not choose.  

Automatically installing Windows 10 on our computers would be a severe abuse of a well-earned trust.  Changing our computers to enable them to become advertising platforms is also an abuse.

    Your view only serves to perpetuate an environment in a novice users device, ripe for a scammer to take advantage of.

    If you don't want the Win10, please watch what you are installing,  cancel the upgrade, if it seems to be installing.  But for your safety and the safety of other people/devices on your network, turn on the Windows automatic updates, hide the updates that you don't want, but be knowledgeable about the updates you are hiding and why.  Not preforming recommended mfg security updates for all your software, creates a high probability that you will be hacked, or loose all your data, or be exposed to identity theft, if your device is normally connected to the internet.  

    Your posts discredit whatever it is you're trying to say:

    (1) You haven't read or absorbed previous posts in this thread, or you would know that the problem of unwanted Win10 downloads began with automatic updates, and that it has been demonstrated here and elsewhere that only setting updates to NEVER will protect the user against unwarnted downloads.

    (2)  You would also know that hiding the updates has been shown not to work because M$ often reissues the update.

    (3)  You contradict yourself by urging users to "be knowlegeable" about what updates they are hiding while heaping scorn on the notion that users should manually select what updates to install.

    (4)  Having urged users to turn on Automatic Updates, you then switch to talking about the importance of security updates.  If the security updates are what matter, then users can easily set Windows Update to NEVER, check for updates when they are ready to download them, and un-check all except the security updates.

    You and Cornell have this in common:  You come on here to boast that any idiot should be able to live with Automatic Updates if only he will pay attention to what he is doing.  As I said above, this claim is like saying that you can live on the edge of a cliff, if you're careful. 

    In making it, you demonstrate your ignorance of issues that have been discussed here and in respected sources such as Woody Leonhard's blog.  Issues such as the lack of information, and deceptive information, provided by Microsoft about certain updates including the infamous KB 3035583.  Issues such as the time last fall when users found themselves tricked into starting the Win10 download process with no way out.  Until you read and absorb the information provided above, you'll continue to look like a fool.

    Microsoft were given a bloody nose over tying Internet Explorer into Windows a decade over. All countries have anti-monopoly legislation. I would anticipate that large trading blocs like the European Union and individual governments will enforce these rules if Microsoft go too far. The current hue and cry will already have alerted them to the potential problem.

    "If you took the trouble to read this forum, you would see that the advice is to download security updates manually"  is an extraordinarily bad suggestion in a novice forum.  Maybe you should read more than the poor advice given in this thread.

    This is where my lack of understanding computers comes in

    All updates are just numbers to me , I had no idea what they were nor really cared , when my "puter wwent wrong back in June every time I tried to use system restore , it failed instantly ,citing update KB3035583 as the reason,during the two whole days it took me to get it working again I just about deleted ever KB number I could find , and I deleted about 60/70% of the pre installed programmes in my computer ,only to find that the following day , they had reinstalled themselves without my knowledge or permission ,That is when I tapped my problem into Google and ended up on here

    Finding that I was not alone in the was an unbelievable relief to me , and finding out that people who are really technically minded and do this stuff for a living vindicated me from my wife's "You should have left it alone ,or Get someone who knows what they are doing"I hate thing being imposed on me against my will , so to find I could actually bloke this Unwanted blight on my system , was to be honest ,A God Send

    7 / 8 months on , I have never been happier with my computer world, and long may that continue , I don't see how my blocking the worlds largest computer corporation from forcibly updating my computer will put other peoples computers at risk ?
