KB3035583 Installing Windows 10 using Windows Update?

Would you please tell me how to prevent the installation of KB3035583 in my computer and if it is already installed, how to remove it?  Also, are there other updates that we need to be concerned about that enable this behaviour?

KB3035583 now appears as an Important update in Windows Update and is checked which means it will be automatically installed if the user does not uncheck it.  If automatic update is set, it will install without intervention.

There are credible articles that say that Microsoft either has installed or will install changes to my computer that will enable Microsoft to use it as an advertising platform and then install Windows 10 without first obtaining an informed decision to do so.  I truly hope this is not true.

On behalf of my clients and their 162 Windows "consumer" computers, I must tell you that we do not grant Microsoft or any other vendor the right to do this.  When other Windows players do this, we regard it as malware and take great care to remove it.

Microsoft got to where it is today by selling Windows.  We have spent decades learning how to use Windows and billions of dollars buying Windows computers and Windows software.  We own these systems.  They are ours, not Microsoft's.

Windows Update has earned a huge trust.  We trust Microsoft to use Windows Update to keep our computers safe and secure.  When Patch Tuesday comes along we install all the updates that Microsoft says are "important." We assume those to be either plugging a security leak or fixing a software error.

We all hope Windows 10 will be something we will want.  We will carefully review and consult trusted advisors before we install Windows 10.  We have seen Windows 8 and rejected it.  Windows 8 is a bad product we did not choose.  

Automatically installing Windows 10 on our computers would be a severe abuse of a well-earned trust.  Changing our computers to enable them to become advertising platforms is also an abuse.

    How do you tell what is basic and what is critical?

    You are either not the sharpest tool in the shed, or a scammer to suggest that no security updates for 6 months is a good thing.  Anyone that believes that suggestion, deserves the hacking they will get.  Installing Security Updates in Win7 does not automatically upgrade someone to Win10, pay attention, do not check the box or click the icon, that preforms the Win10 update if you don't want it, and have not hidden it, as Gerry did.

    No operating system or software of any manufacturer is safe without installing the recommended Manufacturer Security Updates.

    I don't really care if some people love windows 10 , that's their problem , Forgive me if I am wrong , but this thread was for people who don't like it ,nor want it .People who want control of their own lives , not have them controlled for them ?

    I found this thread after two utterly sickening days of trying to rid my computer of this Malware that had infected it without my permission ,and started to destroy MY files ,and programmes

    Two whole days of trying to use system restore (which wouldn't work at all while the 10 virus was in my machine

    then manually deleting every KB number including the dreaded KB3035583 in fact I deleted every single update for the previous two weeks, and probably a lot of stuff I shouldn't have deleted ?then after all that ,only to find it had returned next time I turned my computer on , ONLY through instructions on this thread by Canada Tech ,and other contributors ,was I able to remove it permanently and block this Scourge , from re entering my system

    people will know , I am **** with computers , so everything I do is guess work or by trying to follow instructions given by others.

    My computer has never run better with not allowing one single up date in over six months, only the basic security ones are allowed ./My system is locked ,and every offer of updates , warnings or promotions from MS, I just delete without reading I JUST DONT TRUST THEM

    So like I said , I stumbled across this thread by typing in a specific request "How do I rid my computer of Windows 10

    If I wanted a " Windows 10 "Love in" then that's what I would have typed

    Just saying like

    Oh and I am a Luddite, and I live in the North West of England in an old Cotton mill town

    He is just spreading fear uncertainty and doubt (FUD) about Win7.  Which of course nicely complements all the Polyanna talk about Win10.

    We should agree to disagree as I consider Monkey puts the counter argument to your own position clearly and to the point.

    Since you're so interested in the subject, look into the subject of how monopolies and near-monopolies behave.

    I learnt all about that as part of my professional training over 50 years ago!
