Are you suggesting that hardware manufacturers don't adequately protect their hardware against thermal overload?

I have had a lot of mobile machines in the shop to try to fix after the user played games on it for months.

One machine had the CPU fan size on him and the machine froze on boot

I do not think a tablet is the best platform for playing action games like Starwars, that is why I use an uppity desktop at home.

I own a HP Stream 7, and I use it in native tablet mode, Window 8.1 worked well, 10 not so good so far

You are, of course, entitled to an opinion on which platform is best for games, but that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. I would understand if the performance of the game suffered because I was playing on my SP3, but it shouldn't crash. This isn't even an application problem, it's a driver/OS problem, so talking about what games I play is irrelevant.

Count me in as one with this problem on a Surface Pro 3 i5/256GB and Windows 10 upgrade from 8.1. One key difference is that I did a clean install of 8.1, then upgraded to 10 to make it as clean as possible.

Also, I had no problems until I started to play a couple of older games from the mid 2000's. Nothing exciting (KOTOR2, Supreme Commander, etc). But I think there is a definite correlation between the CPU/GPU temp and this BSOD.

I've also noticed "smaller" issues when doing less graphic's intensive tasks like maximizing/minimizing windows. For example, the screen will freeze and I will get the "your display adapter stopped responding" message. The driver restarts and everything goes back to normal.

To re-iterate, NONE of these problems happened with 8.1. It's only 10. I'm running the latest update (build 10586) and it's happened twice today alone.
