So I was playing age of empires II other day while using windows 7 well upgraded today to windown 10 and now it won't run the start up menu starts but I click play now ... and nothing.how can I fix it

I'm having the same issue on my laptop (ACER Aspire E1-51OP-2671). Playing AOE II Gold Edition, worked fine on win-8 (or win-8 in win-7 mode). Compatibility modes don't make any difference, except to prompt me to log in as an administrator before launching in compatibility mode for win-7 & 8, which also doesn't help. It can't seem to read from the DVD (but that is a completely untrained speculation ;) ) Mostly like 10 thus far, but I want my AOE, too!

Also will AOE II HD work with windows 10? I no it will run with the specs I have just don't want to drop 25 bucKS and not be able to play
Yes I had it installed on windows 7 on same pc worked fine then I upgraded yesterday or day before and now it won't run.
ok i'll try to take a look at this. I have successfully played Age of Empires II HD edition from steam on a few different graphic cards.
One more question so i'm clear, you had it installed on Windows 7 and then upgraded to Windows 10? Or did you install after you upgraded?
