Groove does not display any Album or Artist Art

How do you get Groove to display Album Art? The App seems to have located my music folders just fine as they all seem to be there but not one piece of Album Art. Windows Media Player on the other hand has reloaded everything just fine.

    I give up on useless MS apps.  I'll go back to ITunes that seems to have no problems with my MP3/4 library...  Life's to short for me to download another programme and spend god knows how long indexing 2,500 albums....

    Thanks for the effort, but I don't store my music on OneDrive; I keep it on my sd card... But you're basically saying I should re-tag all my music? A bit overwhelming since I have 64 gb worth of songs!

    It couldn't hurt to try it with a couple of your albums and see how you get on.

    I feel your pain, I've got a couple hundred gigs worth of music, all ripped from CDs going back 20 years. They've all been on iTunes up to now but I hate that app on Windows so much I've decided to gradually move it all over to OneDrive and Groove.

    So far the method works but it's going to take some time :)

    Is it possible those using MP3 don't experience this issue with Groove?

     All my music is encoded as MP3s using dbpoweramp and I experience the same issue.

    • Album art displays in file explorer
    • Album art displays in WMP
    • Album art displays in iTunes
    • Album art displays on my Windows 8 phone
    • Album art even displays in my wife's car!

    Album art doesn't display in Groove.

    Well I spent a fruitless few hours trying to track this down the other day when I spotted that for one album out of 1300 or so, Groove was displaying the cover art! Great! I thought I can examine that album's tags, see what's different about them and be a step closer to a solution.

    I split off a different album and made that folder the target for Groove. It worked, so I added a second album. No success. I tried various combinations of Music library folders, made MP3Tag remove and write various flavours of IDV3 tags all to no avail. Only for the first album, copied alone into the library folder did Groove display artwork. Adding subsequent albums, or adding in groups or all at once had no effect. Only one album at a time ever displays correctly in Groove. Meanwhile, WMP Zune and iTunes all have no problem whatsoever.

    There is a real issue for some users here, so it would be helpful if Microsoft would acknowledge that.

    I don't use MP3, Only AAC and Flac. Is it possible those using MP3 don't experience this issue with Groove?

    I installed Winamp again a few weeks ago to see it was as good as I remembered, and I was shocked at how fast it runs.

    We just need someone to write a Groove Pluginfor Winamp and we will be set ;)
