Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Windows 10

I'm not sure if he used the Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool, but he did use the command prompt to get to it.  It took about 20 minutes to scan and then he went to Flight Simulator and I saw it working.

They are currently running a scan on my system now through Command Prompt, after detecting a few driver changes the Tech Support then started a command prompt. The scan is called Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool. Does this sound familiar to you? It takes a long time apparently. However after using the case number you've provided, he then gave me a case number to use as follow up if need be and it so happened to be the same case number as you! I will let you know if the scan works and if so, I am taking in all the stages and commands that he entered into command prompt.

I have the DX10 preview unchecked and anti-aliasing checked with tri-linear selected.

If I run FSX in Windowed mode, it works OK. It's only when I try to run FSX in full-screen mode (From the menu bar, select View and then Full-screen) that I hit the problems - when the "mini windows" that are supposed to appear when starting up (with a timer bar shown) or other options selected such as Flights - Navigation Log, or World - Map, and many others, will not display - when these options are selected, the main FSX view turns black (which is fine) but the relevant mini-window doesn't display. It is a display issue because the option is present in the background and responds to any key presses (if you happen to know them). This isn't practical in use and on my PC (a laptop), it's definitely preferable to run FSX in full-screen mode and this works just fine in Windows 8.1.

I had the same problem, with most of the menus (with the Alt key) not working and a black screen while a flight loads, with my FSX and Win 10 but have found that it was caused by some of the settings in FSX. What I did was: started FSX, clicked on FSX's settings, then clicked on CUSTOMIZE and made sure that DX 10 Preview was NOT* selected and set Anti Aliasing to ON (Checked). Then select Tri-linear. I then shut FSX down, restarted FSX and everything was back to normal and it is now running very much better than it did before! Hope this helps!       

*I had previously tried turning Direct X10 Preview on and although it helped with the black screen problem, it caused some third party add on aircraft and scenery textures to go missing from the display! Turned DX Preview off and selected anti aliasing and that fixed everything!
