im having the same issue with installing this particular update, and your solution for the issue makes no sense to me. I have no idea how to fix the issue.

Hi,
This update, KB3000850, is quite large -- something like 720+Mb. After quite some time downloading (seemed to get stuck at 4% and 90% downloaded), I got error 800700002 when I tried to install this windows update.
Right after starting download, I disabled my real time anti-virus.
Can anyone suggest ways to overcome this problem???

2015-03-18T20:22:16+00:00 This is driving me insane! 2 days trying to install this update and so far no luck. Problem is I Always get 8024200D error.
I know this update is 700MB+. It first downloads and installs the whole thing but after restarting my PC this update is showing again but it is only 63MB. This is what is failiong to install.
I have tried every single tip in the MS fórum, like sfc scan, dism.exe, restarting Windows update using .cab from MS.
Nothing seems to work.
Anyone with same issue?
Any help is appreciated.

After hours of searching the forums and getting nowhere, I noticed that the time was about 3 hours slow on my pc. I checked and time zone was ok so I changed the clock to the correct time, and immediately got a windows message that said I needed to sign in and verify my identity. I tried but only picture came up and no place to put in my password. After a half hour of searching for a place to sign in, I finally did a restart which appeared to kill it as it wouldn't come back up so I finally had to turn off my power strip. When I turned power strip back on, my computer came back up to the start screen, I signed on and everything I've checked so far seems ok now. No more "floating" in Excel and seems almost back up to speed! Now I have to wonder if the clock time is an indication of more trouble to come or just a one time incident, and could that be what was causing all the trouble?
