Download KB3035583 without using Windows Update?

Back in April, when the round of updates came out to implement the Windows 10 update scheme, I didn't let them install and hid them. Now I'm curious to see how it all works, so I went to unhide and update again. All of the updates that I'd hidden were there, except 3035583 - it seems to have vanished!

I went to the KB site, but it seems the only way it is available is through WU. Is there a standalone file I can download? Might it still be on my system somewhere? Or is there some way I can cajole WU to find it again?

Thanks a whole lot.  The machine running win7 Pro went wonky and had to do a repair and as a result the update I imagine went into cyberspace and of course MS Support was of no help and wanted to charge me for their assistance, so I fixed it myself like I've always done since Microsoft windows 3.0.

Your help is much appreciated.

    That's all right. Just a little speling mistake that you might have done by writing;  KB2976978  instead of KB2979678.

    Had the same issue. Manually installed it without Windows Update: http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/updt/2015/05/windows6.1-kb3035583-x64_d6308e28c41fcbd15695343d83709ed1c4bf5812.msu

    It says that this is not applicable to my computer, I have windows 8.1 and it is the real version, so I don't know what the problem could be

    check if you have the KB3035583 update already installed (in the Installed Updates list)?  or do you have a 32bit edition of Win8.1 (check System Properties if you are using x86/32bit or x64/64bit)?  if you have an earlier version of KB3035583 installed, remove it and reboot your computer.  then install the KB3035583 update revised in July 2015.

    also, you need to install KB2952664 (for Win7 SP1) or KB2976978 (for Win8.1) first before installing KB3035583.

    ok here are the 32bit / x86 editions of KB3035583 revised July 2015-

    Win7 SP1 x86:

    btw, KB3035583 for Win7 requires Win7 SP1 + IE11; this update won't be offered to Win7 users if they're using IE8, IE9 or IE10.  And KB3035583 for Win8.1 requires KB2919355 & KB2979678.
