Told to "Log in as administrator" when trying to run an old game

I just upgraded to Windows 10.  I tried running an old game, which was doing OK on Windows 8.  I get "access denied" when I hit start, and a message telling me to log in as administrator and try again.

I am the administrator.

So what can I do?

This ancient thread should have been locked long ago, but since they haven't done so...

This error is bogus in relation to trying to play old disc based games.

It has nothing to do with running as admin. MS built a 'security feature' into Win10 - DRM Blocking.

I have full details about this so called 'security feature' and why it p revents disc based games from

launching in my post at  --- this thread---

Short story - Old disc based games that use SafeDisk copy protection require using a noCD fix/hack to circumvent DRM Blocking.

btw - This 'feature' was also added to Win7/8/8.1 via a security update (as explained in my linked post) .

    HMMM. This will probably do it as something new showed up when I went to log in after restarting.

    I can't MARK AS ANSWER since I wasn't the original asker but Schreibp can do that. He probably should if he gets a notification of this Reply and if he hasn't already STOP EMAILS on it.

    It would also help others who are trying to fix their computers and come across this since this site give you related Questions that it finds after you type in your own new one if Schreibp would click EDIT at the bottom of his original Question and change the title to Log in as administrator and ACCESS DENIED issue
