Nokia 808 Windows 10 USB drivers

This is probably a lost cause at this point, but I've upgraded to Windows 10 and my 808 no longer connects via USB o Bluetooth. There appears to be some sort of driver issues, as in device manager there are multiple 808 and MTP entries with the exclamation mark. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers does nothing.

Any suggestions short of finding a Windows 8 computer and using that?

I contacted Microsoft's mobile group on Facebook about this issue, and they suggested that I reinstall the cable driver.  Tried that and...almost got it to connect.  I got to thinking that if it's the cable driver that's not working right, maybe I should try to connect without a cable.  I grabbed my little Bluetooth kernel and plugged it into my laptop and...SUCCESS!!!  I was able to sync my day-to-day stuff (pics, contacts, text messages) with no problem.  I tried to backup my phone with the suite and it went REALLY slowly, but it worked (I backed up my phone a week or so before updating to Win10, so I wasn't really too concerned about not finishing the backup today).

So, if you have a way to connect to your computer by Bluetooth, give it a try and it /should/ work to connect to Nokia Suite.  I still want to resolve this issue with the cable connectivity, though, as much out of principle as it is out of convenience.  Bugging the hell out of me...

    Do i have the steps correct.

    1. After install of Nokia Suite - reboot PC & Maybe the disconnect and reboot phone as well
    2.  Select Nokia Suite on Phone under USB connection
    3.  Connect phone to PC
    4. Select Mass Storage on Phone
    5.  Wait for PC to install drivers

    At this point which driver failed for you?

    I noted that for a few moments at step 3 above, all the drivers in Driver manager were OK, but after a short period they all ended up with yellow exclamation mark.

    [UPDATE] - works.... sort of

    After Step 5 above

    1. With the phone connected and in Mass Storage mode, Open Device Manager
    2. Select 'View Hidden Devices'
    3. Scroll down and uninstall all the greyed out 'Nokia' devices - if prompted also remove the driver

    see screen shot #1 4. Now change the USB mode to Nokia Suite and voilà, the Nokia Suite recognised the phone and I was able to browse the photos, contacts and message.

    Down side (see screen shot #2) is that you end up with a stack of 'Unknown Device' in device manager and also, when I tried to reconnect later USB keeps showing up on phone and the dissappearing - but that may be a different issue

    I also came across many third party sites having label "nokia 808 driver for windows 10", but once you install it, then u will realise that they are programmes for other driver update but nothing related to Nokia 808 Driver. I do not expect solution from Microsoft any time sooon.

                   Only solution at this point of the time is to downgrade to Windows 8.1. But, my worry is that I have upgraded to windows 10 pro and activated it. Now if I downgrade to Windows 8.1 for time being and after 6 months if I again upgrade to Windows 10and activate it, then will it be free upgrade?

                  Can any one suggest a more practical solution for this issue?

    I tried doing a few searches for drivers, and came up with a bunch of third-party driver sites that looked a little...shady.  Not sure if I could trust them, or if maybe we should wait a while to see if MS will update their drivers (doubtful, but I won't rule it out until it's officially "too late").  I wonder if it's possible to temporarily run it in some sort of compatibility mode.  Otherwise, I may have to get out my old Vista machine.

    Same problem here. And unfortunately, my Nokia 808 crashed today, so I lost all data including contacts. Now I can not back up my contacts from Nokia suite in windows 10 PC. Only option I can see is to go back to windows 8.1 and recover all data. If u have fix, then plz let me know.
