DirectDraw emulation still broken in Windows 10

Hello, Microsoft, please fix DirectDraw, considering Windows 10 is your last OS, and loads of people have complained about this in Windows 8, and it's STILL NOT FIXED IN 10. most games DX8 and below run horrible thanks to this, either screwed up colours and/or a very bad framerate to other problems such as sprites not loading. This is odd considering it was fine in Windows 7. 

An example is Red Alert 2, it's unplayable unless you use a 3rd party directdraw emulation such as WineD3D.

Another example is Commandos 3, the graphics are corrupted and it crashes on some missions making it unplayable.

And no compatibility settings don't fix any of this.

All we need is Windows 7's DirectDraw emulation back since that was fine.

Cmon microsoft fix this!

    Hello Kevin,

    on my end, Jagged Alliance 2 iterations (Vanilla, Gold, Unfinished Business and Wildfire) have not worked properly under Win10. This is another game that utilizes DirectDraw. The framerate is very choppy, unlike any other OS up to 7 (I never used 8).

    If there were to be a fix to this, I would be very grateful as Jagged Alliance 2, albeit old, is easily one of my favorite games of all time, and I would love to be able to play it again without having to set aside a partition for WinXP or the likes.

    hi Kevin,

    about Panzer General 3SE: there must still be tens of thousands discs hanging around: for their owners it could come in handy to have an adapted direct draw file, although with my limited technical knowledge I wouldn't know if that would solve all compatibility problems.

    Then people from the community of players ( http://panzercentral.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=101 ) made new campaigns, new equipment files and the way to do that and a few extras and all the campaigns from Panzer General 3d available in a single download.

    Even somebody made a 'wrapper' to improve readability, called ddraw.dll , which works very well in Windows 7. This file and some added equipment files have not yet been put in an update (version 2.2) of the single download of PG3SE.

    I will ask the last 'technician' involved to do that, although that post is vacant and the PG3SE community dissolved. I post here what his reply is and will then update the latest version (either 2.0 or 2.2) for public download. 

    I think this excellent turn based game, with all its work being done on it by its lovers, deserves an accessible place in the digital cultural heritage. You have my appreciation already for taking this serious.

    Hi Kevin, please add Midtown Madness 1 & 2 to your list. I have crazy frame rate issues on Windows 10. I play from disc or using the no disc launcher. The only workaround I found is using a 3rd party program called D3DWindower that runs the game in window mode, and, I believe uses an older emulated version of DirectDraw.
