For me, FT is alot better than Morningstar, especially since i have many portfolios and want to see how they are doing on a summary page (the desktop). I have spent more time with FT.com and I find it simpler than Morningstar. So give more time to both
and see which one you like?
OK - I think I've come to a decision.
After hours and hours of entering transactions into FT... I think I do like Morningstar better.
The layout is cleaner and simpler - makes the day's changes easier to see at a glance.
And it's much easier to print out on a single page, with all the data laid out.
And it's much more customizable than FT - you can choose what you want to see, and the order of the columns. AND you can sort by symbol, instead of the name that FT gives as the only option.
Entering transactions is much easier, too, of course, where you can go right to whatever month and year you wish without the click click click.
So having spent days entering transactions into FT, I'm going back and doing it again at Morningstar! What fun.
I'm actually keeping them both maintained, for the time being.
(What if MSN ever becomes functional again and we have to go back and work on that one again! But it sure doesn't look like that's ever going to happen.)
