Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

FT looks pretty good.  Two items so far - entering older transactions can be frustrating as getting to proper date is an exercise in clicking; for mutual funds, there is no option to show a reinvested dividend.  I entered as a buy - gets me to the right spot, just not quite right for cumulative returns.  Am thinking of going back on the reinvested dividends and entering basis as -0-.  I think that will show me cumulative returns - but I lose out on correct basis.  Not perfect, but looking good.

Any one yet deleting all "my (useless) watchlist" transactions if you moved to another portfolio manager? or in other words any reason to believe that they can get this site back to something functional?

Just to clarify, I set-up my CNN portfolio manually. It is actually designed to be linked to your brokerage accounts. If it is linked it will update automatically with any changes and will probably track cost basis. I don't like linking anything to my brokerage accounts. I just don't trust the internet that much! The CNN portfolio is run by SigFig so it might be better to use the SigFig portfolio and cut out the middle man.

I agree this is too expensive for what I need. CNN money portfolio is free and looks promising. It shows all accounts on one screen with subtotals for each account and a grand total for the whole portfolio. The whole portfolio can be printed using your browser print function. The bad thing is that it doesn't track individual transactions. Dividends have to be added manually and it can't track cost basis. I still need to take a closer look at FT.

I also sent a complaint to Microsoft Investor Relations a couple weeks ago.  Why dont you move on to a good portfolio manager (eg. FT.com)?  The new PM will be a piece of junk for a long time to come.

    Just saying......

Yes, TW, I am moving on. Especially as the lame Watchlist isn't even functioning properly.

I've been using Morningstar for the time being. Its reports of daily changes is good and clear, though long-term gain/loss is another story. I will get on to FT, although I'm a little gunshy now of getting involved with a company whose primary business is not investing.

    Life does go on!

I tried Morningstar (also Google Finance and Yahoo) and I prefer FT.com mainly because it allows you to see all your portfolio results together on one screen and it also provides you with the total gain or loss of all your portfolios added together.  Morningstar, Google Finance and Yahoo only allow you to see one portfolio at a time.  That is the main reason I prefer FT.com, but there are other reasons.

The Financial Times doesnt solely focus on investing, but its a major focus.  Also, FT upgraded their portfolio manager in March, 2014, and they say "We’ll be launching many more features soon".  Compare to "who cares about the customer" MSN.

Her is a link to the announcement of the FT portfolio upgrade:

I checked Google portfolio and it has daily change plus change from buy price on the amount of stocks in the portfolio. I have not been able to really check it out because of illness.
