Your'e welcome. I found FT.com because someone mentioned it a couple years ago in an investing website's discussion group.
You got everything right, but I havent looked at importing with a .CVS file. I'm transfering all transactions manually from the old PM to FT.com, so at this point it is not an issue for me.
I didnt want to deal with dividends, so I selected the last choice "dont include dividends" and they no longer appear in the transaction area. Maybe i will revisit divdends later, but dividends do create alot of clutter in the transaction area (as they once did with the old PM awhile back).
I dont know if you have noticed this yet, but once you add a stock's first transaction, its faster to click the down arrow in the "Actions" column next to the stock to make additional transactions for that stock. The stock symbol is already entered for you.
Also, you can have multiple views of your portfolios and the columns in each view can be customized.
I cant find where FT.com calculates total cost for you (multiply # of shares times price plus commission) the way the old PM did in the transaction area. I wish FT would also calculate the transaction cost.
Also, the results for todays activity drop off earlier than they did for the old PM. Its 10:23pm on the West Coast and I see alot of zeros in todays value change column.
Moving to FT.com is time consuming, but its also a chance to setup portfolios that are more organized and useful.
Im glad you like it so far.
