Well I gave up and moved all my files back to the network. I gave up on August 18 when it showed I still had 6,989 files to upload. This is just plain ridiculous. I was able to successfully move tons of files over to Dropbox with no issues at all. In fact I have around 51 GB on Dropbox without an issue and I love how I can sync data or specific folders instead of the entire thing to my PCs and Handheld mobile devices.
I also noticed another problem, Microsoft couldn't deal with long path names. I thought this issue was resolved back in the days of XP, but apparently OD has an issue with it still.
As a Microsoft Enterprise customer I have been moving my files over to the OneDrive Business suite (or should I say been trying to move my files). I started the upload of all the documents in my network drive that comprised of around 200,000 files or about 80 GB of data. Since I have a 1TB drive and several mobile devices that have access to the OneDrive through Office 365 I thought this would be a much better solution than having to connect via VPN on a PC, transfer the file, move it to a thumb drive or upload as needed to my DropBox account so I can access on mobile devices. A lot of steps which frankly should not be needed.
I have been uploading this data since August 2, 2017 today is August 14, 2017. Out of the number of files to upload, my PC still shows 6,996 files remaining. Other than a couple of computer reboots it has been running non-stop. My data connection is on a 1GB Ethernet, connected to an enterprise network of Cisco hardware via a 10GB three redundant layers of backbone to our central server infrastructure. My real-world WAN connection is a symmetrical 300 Mbps fiber connection with redundant carriers times two.
My real world Speed Test shows: 6ms ping to a server hosted in Dallas, TX. Download speed: 166.47 Mbps x 93.75 Mbps.
What gives?
