I've tried various fixes. Changing homegroup etc. Nothing work.

Please provide some guidance

I am not sure if everyone is checking at the right place if they are connected to domain network and they have 8.1 because only 8.1 has this option. Windows 8 has a different way to share devices and content.

For chromecast troubleshooting:

Where to find the option to share:

I have been using Windows since forever and have used Apple too, so switching to Mac / Apple is not going to help. Its just another OS with the same fundamentals. Go figure it out in a Apple store if you want a demo.

I have the same problem with my Google Chromecast. It was working pretty well on windows 8.0 but after te upgrade to windows 8.1, which another **** os, it started missing devices. Microsoft support is sh*t and I'm regretting upgrading the os.

One thing is sure tho: microsoft is dead this 2014 i swear.

I am having the same issue. I have tried creating new profile- no change. Uninstalling and reinstalling network drivers - no change. Would really like to solve this.

I'm having the same problem.  What's odd is that I was troubleshooting the same issue before the weekend and that option was there.

I created two new accounts, one regular user and one administrator, the problem is the same with both so it's not an account problem.

Still can't see the "Find devices and content" option.

No domain network, just my home computers.

I'm having the same problem as everyone else on this thread.  Just thought I'd add my post to add to the number of folks with this problem.
