how to reset phone if i forgot my lockscreen password

i forgot my phone's lock screen pin and unable to unlock it

after reading a lot of questions regarding it i found that we should reset the phone and there is no other option than that .

so how to do it, mine is lumia 520

Log into windowsphone.com and use the Find My Phone feature to set a new lock code

  1. Go to http://www.windowsphone.com and sign to the Microsoft account associated with your phone.
  2. Select "Find My Phone" from  the drop down menu that appears when you click on your name.  Or just go to https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/my/find
  3. Click the "Lock" link
  4. Enter a new 4 digit PIN code and press the Lock button.

    i forgot my lumia lock screen pasword.i sign in microsoft account and i used find my phone option.. but they not giving me a new pin to lock my phone..they asked to use the password that i had used before. what can i do? how can i unlock my phone without hard reset
