how to reset phone if i forgot my lockscreen password

i forgot my phone's lock screen pin and unable to unlock it

after reading a lot of questions regarding it i found that we should reset the phone and there is no other option than that .

so how to do it, mine is lumia 520

Log into windowsphone.com and use the Find My Phone feature to set a new lock code

  1. Go to http://www.windowsphone.com and sign to the Microsoft account associated with your phone.
  2. Select "Find My Phone" from  the drop down menu that appears when you click on your name.  Or just go to https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/my/find
  3. Click the "Lock" link
  4. Enter a new 4 digit PIN code and press the Lock button.

    I do not get the option for entering a new PIN before locking it from the Microsoft account page.

    Also every time I try the forgotten lock screen PIN, it locks me out..currently I'm locked out for 1850 minutes:).

    If I'm not getting the PIN option, is it because I'm locked out for next 1850 minutes?

    I went to www.windowsphone.com and i signed in i selected "Find my phone" And then "Lock" but i cannot type a 4-6 digit code there just reads "Message" and i can type it there it says that i can only unlock my phone with the phones password which i don't ofcourse remember so what now?
