KB2952664 was published on April 22, 2014 and appears in my Windows Update List (I am running Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit).
The description of this update is vague: "This update helps Microsoft make improvements to the current operating system in order to ease the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows."
Anyone have more information on what this update actually does? If its sole purpose is to ease the "upgrade" from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (or 8.1 or 8.1 update), then I'll just permanently hide KB2952664 (I have no desire or intention to "upgrade" my Windows 7 system to any flavor of Windows 8).
If its purpose is to ease what would be a true Windows 7 upgrade to a yet-to-be-announced Windows 7 SP2, then I'll keep it (but still would like to have more information about what KB2952664 actually does before installing).

I have not experienced a Windows 10 auto-install. I have heard (but cannot confirm) that there is no prompt before the install begins. It is after the install has finished that the end user gets a chance to see the End User License Agreement, and if the user clicks "Decline',
then MS attempts to revert back to the previous operating system.
Not sure whether you got the idea about this thread. It is AGAINST Microsoft nagware, malware & spyware. Please, read carefully what people want and what they don't want. Don't give them DECEPTIVE information!!!

This is not a problem, it is their design. You're being too generous calling it a problem. They want all users pushed to WIn10. In the process they are prob'ly making money for apple, as they are pushing people who have been loyal for decades away, but they are counting on most people giving up and accepting "the inevitable".

One sees so many long and complicated End User License Agreements these days that I suspect few people (even savvy computer users) actually take the time to read and understand the Agreement. Most people have become conditioned to just click "Accept" and go on.
So it's not unexpected that a computer unsavvy user could see the Windows 10 End User License Agreement pop-up, and routinely just click "Accept".
I am not condoning that behavior ... I am just saying that it probably happens quite often ... and Microsoft takes advantage of computer unsavvy users who do not really understand what they are doing when they routinely click "Accept".
Let's not blame the victim (computer unsavvy user) ... especially when Microsoft could very easily fix this problem with a well documented option that says: "Do you want Windows 10 installed on your computer ... Yes? No?" If the user clicks No, then no further Windows 10 updates/nags would be presented to that user.
