KB2952664 was published on April 22, 2014 and appears in my Windows Update List (I am running Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit).
The description of this update is vague: "This update helps Microsoft make improvements to the current operating system in order to ease the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows."
Anyone have more information on what this update actually does? If its sole purpose is to ease the "upgrade" from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (or 8.1 or 8.1 update), then I'll just permanently hide KB2952664 (I have no desire or intention to "upgrade" my Windows 7 system to any flavor of Windows 8).
If its purpose is to ease what would be a true Windows 7 upgrade to a yet-to-be-announced Windows 7 SP2, then I'll keep it (but still would like to have more information about what KB2952664 actually does before installing).

Not for me all of them including kb2952664 have been in the optional section
It's a Recommended update that will appear in the Important section IF the windows updates settings are not like this
The Give me Recommended updates..... box must be Unchecked.
The only sneaky one so far was kb3112343 imho
Everything else 10 related would and has fallen into the optional section where most people if they don't want 10 just should not be looking in there ;)
Focus only on the Important updates which 3112343 was and most likely will continue M$ added some high cpu issues in it as well just for good measure :p
Several of the telemetry, nagware, and other suspect updates, including the one that appears in the title of this thread, have been marked "important". If these updates were all marked "optional", we wouldn't be having most of this discussion.
Well they have to do it that way -- they're trying to strongarm everyone into moving to Win10, so they want to get these updates installed so they can start nagging or threatening you.
So I consider it sneaky AND intentional.

I don't see anything sneaky
Microsoft's not informing customers that a previously hidden update (by user) is being unhidden (by Microsoft) is what's sneaky.
It would be easy enough for Windows Update to pop up a warning saying something like this: "A hidden update on your computer (kbxxxxxx) has been re-issued. Do you want to unhide it? Yes. No."
