Photo Collage

When I purchased my new computer it came with Windows 8. I was pleasantly surprised when my photos popped up on the desktop in a collage manner, sort of like a screensaver. When I upgraded to 8.1, this feature has gone away. I miss it and would love to have it back.  If anyone knows how to accomplish this, please reply!! Thanks.  Connie York

No, I am not referring to Screensaver.  With Windows 8 on my new computer, it was a pleasant surprise that happened when I opened Photos.  There was an arrow that showed up at the bottom left of my screen, I believe it actually said "shuffle" and when I clicked it, my photos came up, covered the screen like a collage, different sizes, etc.  It was amazing.  Then, when I upgraded to 8.1, this option was no longer there.  I have done some research and seen this same situation from several others.  We did not do anything in Windows 8 to make this collage happen--it just happened, and it was great. Now it is gone.  Anything that can be done to bring this back would be appreciated.  I have started using the screensaver option since I lost the previous feature, but it is just not the same.  Thanks, Connie York

The feature you are referring to was not implemented in the new Windows 8.1 Photos app.  I have noted your request to bring this feature back and will bring it up with the product group.

    My wife and I both have the same brand of laptop both with windows 8.1 Her screen saver works as a collage and mine does not. We are even using the same family pictures. Go figure!!

    Gregg - Has this been addressed or fixed - I too had the same problem - I loved the collage vs a single picture, please let me know -  ******@sbcglobal.net

    Thank you all for the feedback. The Photos app team also loves the photo collage feature, and are definitely hearing that users want that feature.

    Any word on giving this wonderful featured back to us..? 

    We are all very serious about getting this reinstated... please bring it back.  It was awesome and we love and miss it... I have a new granddaughter and many many pictures are being shared...                              

    We're begging ... please bring it back!!    Or, at least give us the option to buy it..  It was truly worth having!  This is one of those "special" things that put MS ahead of all others..  It's unique and people like different and unique..

    Please let us know the status...

    I agree. I just had to get a new computer (8.1) and can't even restore it back to 8 to get the one feature (photo collage) I really appreciated. It's bad enough that I have to use a tablet interface on a desktop. If I wanted that I would simply open my tablet or smart phone. It shouldn't be a difficult process for microsoft to add a simple feature that most people miss using, but clearly they are Not listening to their customers.

    I've even called them and got the run around and it appears they really don't have any intention of bringing it back.

    If anyone from Microsoft is still paying attention to this thread please give us an update on the status of this issue or a link/update to install the photo collage. Really shouldn't be much trouble or a big deal for them to add it to 8.1 in a timely manner
