you won't. if they update the app, it will show up as an update. the Windows

Store no longer shows changes by version. if it shows up as a system update in

Windows Update, which it may because it is a system level application, it is

unlikely that there will be details on what is in the fix.

I'd be surprised if Gregg posted a reply to your questions above.

I, as well, am very disappointed that the auto collage feature is not available on 8.1..  I have just spent the past 4 hours (after installing 8.1 today)trying to figure out where the feature had gone. 

I have two questions:

1. Is it possible to re-install the 8 version (until 8.1 "re-includes" the feature?,  and
2. If and when the feature is restored , how will we know about it?

No, I am not referring to Screensaver.  With Windows 8 on my new computer, it was a pleasant surprise that happened when I opened Photos.  There was an arrow that showed up at the bottom left of my screen, I believe it actually said "shuffle" and when I clicked it, my photos came up, covered the screen like a collage, different sizes, etc.  It was amazing.  Then, when I upgraded to 8.1, this option was no longer there.  I have done some research and seen this same situation from several others.  We did not do anything in Windows 8 to make this collage happen--it just happened, and it was great. Now it is gone.  Anything that can be done to bring this back would be appreciated.  I have started using the screensaver option since I lost the previous feature, but it is just not the same.  Thanks, Connie York

The feature you are referring to was not implemented in the new Windows 8.1 Photos app.  I have noted your request to bring this feature back and will bring it up with the product group.

Absolutely agree.  Just upgraded last night and really miss the photo collage.  Please bring it back!  The photos on screen saver are nice, and some of the photos appear to be put into the "collage" format, however I really want that feature back for "normal" photo viewing!  THANKS.
