                 Code 80240055

    (Google search for

        0x80240055

    )

    Looks like this patch was superseded by another one.  No surprise.  It looks old

    So, without the aid of the often missed  DLL Help Database  which one could it be?

    What version of  secdrv.sys  do you have?

    Your cmd search located a number of files, each in a folder relating to individual diagnostics. I'm not sure how to interpret anything in the files in these folders though, and can't seem to be able to add files to this board..?

    You could upload them to your OneDrive Public folder and then post a link.

    I ran a Windows Update troubleshooting tool, which returned the error 0x80070490.

    Supposedly there is corruption in the WinSxS cache.  You could try using DISM to see what it detects.  PowerShell has a nice front end to it called  Repair-WindowsImage.

    OK.  So you did that.  Then look at the CBS.log (at the time of the error) for its clues.

    Regarding the BITS troubleshooter, I'm not sure what BITS stands for but I can't find anything that relates to it in the list (running a search in that window returns no results).

    I'm seeing it on W10 Pro.  I guess it will be new or something that the Home version might not get.

    Alternatively, you could try to find out if there is a related FixIT...  I found a reference

    (BING search for

        FIXIT BITS  site:microsoft.com

    )

    Fortunately it is even about your OS.   ; )

    Good luck

    Robert
