Error: We couldn’t complete the updates, Undoing changes. Don’t turn off your computer.

Hi there

I get no error code either. Win 8.1 64 bit.

I have tried running the update diagnostic tool and get the following results:

When I attempt removing the last Windows update, I get an error message 'an error has occurred, not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled'

I am not sure what the next step is, I have no recovery partition and no restore point as updates were installed on the laptop when I got it. This occurred before but I was somehow able to get out of the loop and never rebooted since.

Please let me know if I can provide more info.

EDIT1: Tried doing a clean reboot following these instructions, no improvement.

i put it on manual updates as when i restarted computer each time it would do updates then take hours to undo them. i done a factory reset months back then this fault occured. i also can't seem to activate windows. it says 'windows can't activate right now, try again later'. Then when i type in SLUI 04 (i think it is 04 can't remember off top of my head) and i fill out my location, united kingdom it says i need to call a number but no number is there?

That is also known as W8.1.1. You should be on W8.1.2 by now (KB3000850). What happened to that one? Almost looks like you are suppressing automatic updates and doing them manually. If so, start with that one.

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), and tap or click Settings.
2. Tap or click Change PC settings, and then Update and recovery.
3. Tap or click View your update history.

View failed update error code.
