Hey there,

Whenever I open the store, i get and error coded 0x80072efd, saying that 'We weren't able to connect to the store. This might have happened because the server problem or the network connection might have timed out.' Please help me out here. Note that i updated my factory installed windows 8 by downloading the win 8.1 pro from MS Store. Also my other apps are working fine and able to connect to the internet and I checked my firewall and Store is allowed in the 'Allow apps' option of Firewall config.

Hi Nayan,

Sorry for the late reply.

Check if proxy connection is enabled. If yes, then disable the proxy connection and check the status.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

a. Open Internet Explorer.

b. Click Tools and then click Internet Options.

c. Click on the Connections tab.

d. Click on the LAN Settings button.

e. Then uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.

f. Click Apply.

If that does not help, Microsoft has come up with a little tool. You can download the Microsoft Account Troublefooter from here:

Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Please try to re-register the Store App and check.

    a. Press “Windows Key + Q” button from the keyboard.

    b. Type “Command Prompt” without quotes in the search box.

    c. On the left pane, right click on the “Command Prompt” option and select “Run as Administrator”.

    d. Run the following command, restart the computer and check.

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

    Refer to: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/notime/archive/2013/10/21/10458031.aspx.

Important: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration

    in case problems occur.

If that does not help, create a new user account and check the issue.

    RajithR,

Wanted to thank you for this information.  It worked immediately for me, no restart required.

I had recently installed Norton 360 (2014 edition).  My Microsoft account was already verified, and I had no proxy server configured within the Internet Options.

What was strange was that, of the Metro Apps I tried to use, Weather & Store both reported "No Internet Connection", but the Stocks app happily refreshed from the Internet.

All apps are working now, thanks for your help!

    Josh
