Ok so here are the system specs
After the last update and restart. I am unable to use Windows update.
I have tried the troubleshooting steps but the problem still exists.
SFC returns no problem at all.
Problem occurring for updates KB2936068 and KB2919355
Using their standalone installer isn't working either.

2014-04-27T03:13:35+00:00 Well, it continues to be a very long day! I d/l ...355 manually and it almost looked like it would succeed but it didn't and resulted in the same failure message as in Win Update. I have ...442 installed but my WUAENG.dll is still the older one and does not update during maintenance. Might you have any other ideas. Thanks for your time.

...442 was installed on March 14, I am waiting for maintenance to replace my WUAENG.dll to the current version (hopefully). The MS manual install site has a slightly different order for the installations, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Do you have KB2919442 installed? It's a prerequisite to install KB2919355, the latter of which is the 8.1 Update. To check, right click the Start button, go to "Programs and Features" and click the link top left to "View installed updates". Then copy/paste KB2919442 into the Search field top right. It will appear immediately if it's installed.
If it's not installed, that's where the problem lies and you can install it manually from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919442
If it's already installed, then proceed as follows.

You can copy / paste the commands in the thread as follows.
- Right click the Start button and go to "Command Prompt (Admin)".
- Copy a command and then right click the black button top left of the command prompt window and go to Edit followed by Paste and then hit Enter.
Repeat for the additional commands.
If after running the commands, KB2919355 still fails to install via Windows Update, download it manually from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/DownloadResults.aspx?q=KB2919355
If you have to go the manual route, please note that when you click the red Download button after selecting either 32-bit or 64-bit, you'll be presented with a choice of five options. These have to be installed one at a time in a particular order as per the screenshot starting with the one at the top.
